In 1990, I visited Zimbabwe for a holiday and felt a strong connection. Leaving my clothes behind, I returned in 1991 determined to create wildlife sculptures. I learned to work with wax for making molds and casting bronze sculptures. My first foundry, with help from my African assistant Killion, was set up on a friend's farm.
